Virtual Reading

When did this happen and how did I not know about it? Two questions which struck me when I discovered the latest literary trend. A remarkable evolution in books is taking place right now: augmented reality novels.

Over the past few years augmented books have begun to appear online and in shops. When you look at one of these augmented reality books, they appear to be like any other book; however, when they are placed in front of your computer’s webcam, 3D elements, movies, sight and sounds appear. Some even include interactive elements. As always there are apps so the book’s virtual features can be accessed via your phone or tablet. I thought I was cutting edge with my Kindle Paperwhite!

These two will be in the library next week, preorder on the Reading Cloud; I think they’re going to fly off the shelves.
